Disability access statement

THE DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION ACT (DDA) 1995 ACCESS STATEMENT CANTRE SELYF GUEST HOUSE

Cantre Selyf is 17th century town house in the middle of Brecon on a quiet side street.

Now run as a guest house with three double rooms one of which is a twin bedded room. Access to the ground floor is level with no steps. The doorways are exceptionally wide due to the age of the house.

The car park is level and has a gravel finish. There are also car parking facilities nearer the entrance where luggage may be dropped. Access to the house is also level with no steps into the guest entrance.

Our bedrooms are all on the first floor which is accessed by 12 oak treads which are uncarpeted followed by a small landing and two more steps. There is a solid oak right hand stair rail.

Whilst not really appropriate for severely disabled guests or those using a wheelchair (we have no lift ) and due to listed building regulations will always be restricted in this respect, we are always ready to help with luggage and will explain menus and directions on request .

Guests can consult us on local access issues and can be directed to local information websites and can use our internet access on request. We have broadband throughout the house.

We welcome all guests into our home and are very sympathetic to any specific requirements.

We are happy to work around any disability requirements and a quick phone call will usually determine if we are suitable for your stay
