Brecon has art galleries specializing in Welsh art and ceramics, as well as monthly craft markets. There is also a monthly antiques fair and farmers market ensuring there is always something new to see and do. Go to Art Beat Brecon for more information.
The Brecon Agricultural show in August is one of the oldest in Britain and every year Brecon hosts the widely acclaimed jazz festival, a great weekend with terrific jazz and a wonderful atmosphere in the town. The Hay Festival of Literature is within easy access and attracts world famous authors.
Brecon's theatre offers a wide range of entertainment including opera, dance and touring theatre companies as well as local talent.
Within the National Park there is excellent walking, cycling, fishing, sailing, pony trekking, gliding, golf and climbing, something to suit all tastes from those seeking adventure and fun to those who prefer a leisurely stroll with some retail therapy.
